Dracula Unearthed is a 90 minute special commemorating 100 years since the release of the German classic Nosferatu by FW Murnau. 

Count Dracula continues to resonate with audiences across all forms of literature, art, mythology and major historical events when Vlad II the ruler of Wallachia and his power to stop the ottoman empire coming into Eastern Europe,  to the mythology of his transformation into the world of vampires and everlasting life. The emergence of gothic story telling which led eventually to Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1897, influenced by the story of Vlad.  

Hollywood's Universal Pictures brought horror to the screen in the 1930's with Frankenstein, The Mummy and the great Bela Lugosi created the archetypal image of Count Dracula in black the curious attraction of everlasting life. Christopher Lee & Hammer brought more blood & buxom blondes to join Dracula's world. Presented by Author and leading cinephile Ian Nathan with contributions from Neil Norman, Stephen Armstrong and Kim Newman, horror aficionado, author, journalist winner of the respected Bram Stoker Award for excellence in horror and respected expert Count Dracula
